High School Musical: On Stage

Performance Dates:
April 24, 25 & 26, 6:00PM
Newark Community High School's theatre program performed High School Musical: On Stage on April 24, 25 and 26, 2025 at 6pm.

"Welcome to East High!

When High School Musical first hit screens in 2006, it wasn't just a movie-it became a cultural phenomenon. Its message was simple yet powerful: be true to yourself, break free from expectations, and celebrate what makes you unique. As we bring this story to the stage, those themes feel more relevant than ever.

This production is more than just catchy songs and energetic dance numbers (though there's plenty of both!). It's about discovering who you are, standing up for your passions, and embracing the community around you. Watching our students bring these characters to lifewith humor, heart, and a whole lot of hard work-has been a true privilege.

At its core, High School Musical is a love letter to high school itself: the awkwardness, the excitement, the pressure, and the unexpected friendships that make those years unforgettable. This cast and crew have poured their energy, creativity, and spirit into every rehearsal, and I couldn't be prouder of the vibrant world they've created together.

So/ whether you 're a Wildcat at heart or just here for the popcorn, thank you for supporting the arts in our school and celebrating the voices of young performers. We hope you leave the theater humming, smiling, and maybe even ready to "break free" a little yourself."
Enjoy the show!
